I have a 2012 550 the dealership back in germany when i picked it up they told me not to put that type of fuel in the car but back in germany isnt a big of a deal because you find both types of fuel the "normal one" which it has only 5% ethanol in it and the "new type" which it has 10% ethanol in it. Now here in USA you only see 10% ethanol fuel in almost every gas station and had no choice and i have been using it in the car afraid of in the future to have some problems in the engine or some else. Does someone know something about this topic? Thanks

You should have no problem with using 10% ethanol, almost every big city in the US use 10% ethanol.

The politics of Ethanol in our gasoline:

It has proven to be bad for my yard equipment - my Honda mower hates it - but it has not affected my cars . . so far. Could this be a contributing factor to the HPFP failures? Did the people in Germany tell you why you shouldn't use it in your car?

Pretty much they said cuz is a high-performance engine like M3's and M5's that i shouldnt used cuz i "might" have issues in the future. Now few people i know back in germany that are mechanics had issues with mid 2000 cars (mercedez, bimmers) with the fuel pump cuz of the E10 so i mean i dont know, but i have been using it and so far so good

Good luck finding ethanol-free gas its not readily available in most parts of the US but it is out there and more available in some parts of the country than others. Here is a link that might be useful.

Around the DC metro area, every gas station has 10% Ethanol. I wouldn't even know how to find it without

Luckily in Germany and all of Europe the choice exists.

I don't buy into the ethanol propaganda but then again I think the moon landing was staged, lol.

In PA we have KWIK-FILL stations that only sell 100 percent gas. Are there any of those stations where you live?
