F10 5-series U.S. Release Date: June 19, 2010
The U.S. release date for the F10 5-series is set for June 19, 2010, the date on which U.S. customers will be able to take delivery of their 2011 5-series. Unfortunately for our 5POST members who already have cars in transit from Germany, this also means that their cars will already be on U.S. soil, but won't be released until June 19th. Tune in on that date as we should see a flood of 5POST members taking delivery!
For all you owners who will have their F10s delivered prior to this date, fret not, your cars will be well protected at processing center. This is an older report, but check out what happens to your car while waiting for delivery: http://www.e90post.com/vpc/index.asp.htm |

There are a lot of 5 series at port right now and all of them show a hold reason because of the monroney label. Must be waiting for the official numbers from the EPA certification. Hopefully the launch supply vehicles will be released soon so people who have vehicles on order or want to order a vehicle will be able to drive the vehicle.

That's ridiculous that those customers have to wait roughly a month and a half when their cars are already sitting on US soil. I thought the 2 weeks I had to wait for my 2010 to be released was ridiculous, this is worse. If a customer order the car, let them have it. If a dealer ordered it for their stock, do not. It's that simple.
If it is because of the EPA, a few unofficial 5ers are not going to make some penguins heads explode because they were released before official figures were finalized. |

can't believe our US buyers have to wait for this long... why? i've seen cars driven on the roads even in Asia already.
i was visiting friends in Korea last week. out from the airport he picked me up with his brand new AW 535i, loaded with almost all options. as a current M5 & 750Li owner myself, i can say i was in love with the new 7 interior. made my M5 looks dated & much less luxurious. the ride was great. didn't feel much turbo-lag compare to my 750Li. just great power delivery. overall it felt great & looks nice. it looks a little tame though. can't wait for the upcoming M5! |

In the US some of your cars have already landed Stateside but you can't have them until June. In Europe, where they launched months ago, I ordered at the end of March and got a production date for mid May. Go figure

BMW NA wants the F10 to hit all US dealers at the same time so as not to favor or disfavor any dealer. Plus they probably want to use up the E60's on dealers lots.

Makes sense that they would want to clear out inventory. My dealer called me today and said my car was arriving in SoCal and would take 1-2 wks to prep, but will have to be held for release date anyway (June 19th).
