Because I dont plan on putting 10k miles on my car till the next oil change. I change my oil every 5k. Im switching to rotella 5w40 full synthetic on the next oil change. We dont need to use castrol.

For those who changed their oil, was the filter a little loose in the plastic cup? It took a lot of effort to snap it out, but the thing it snapped into was loose inside the plastic cup. Is that normal?

I know I'm late to this thread but I just did this service and my oil drain plug wasn't an 8mm, it was a T50 torx bit. Idk if something changed on later N63 builds but my early build 2011 would not take an 8 or 10mm Allen head. Hope this helps someone in the future

Someone has hammered a Torx socket into it before. Common thing to do when someone has used an allen socket that is too small and destroyed the hole.
