I was told not to do it, people threw rocks at my house, I was fired from my job and now my kids told me I'm not their dad all because I bought 43 dollars worth of HID fog lamp conversion crap on eBay. But damn it looks good. HID H11 55W Slim no canbus and a set of JDM lol "JDM" canbus load resistors and bam!

Ok, ok some of that is true like it cost 43 bucks is real, eBay is real and the parts described are real and the rest is, well, you decide.

I got the HID's first and they flickered like crazy and then shut off, damn it. Had them coded same behavior, damn it. Got the canbus load resistor and bingo, worked! I got 6000k which has a blue tint to it and mixes well with the 5400k stock. The blend is a super bright white.

While we were coding I had my angels turned to their brightest settings. You can see that in the last pic.

43 dollar mod thought I'd share

You could probably find the canbus resistor for cheaper. My decision was based off of location. I received my HID's in 2 days and the resistors in 3.

The keywords to search are HID H11 55W slim and H11 canbus load resistor.

Spectrum range is up to you. I know most like to keep the stock 5400k.

The only extra step I took was having it coded so just know that may of helped. However I'm fairly confident that all I needed was the resistors. I also went with HID over LEDs because I've yet to see a LED fog light with a better and brighter pattern then a 55W HID. The only good LEDs I've seen are those huge strips on top of Jurassic park trucks and the new Acura headlights.

The brighter angels combined with the fog HIDs are bright enough to drive around with, but I don't want to be a total douche only partial.

The last thing to make it even brighter and negate the purpose of a fog lamp is to add projectors https://www.ebay.com/itm/142062481748

@Bmw doubles you still using the stock fog light switch correct? No ugly aftermarket one needed to be installed somewhere in the vehicle.

Looks great! Not as much glare as I was expecting from HIDs in reflectors. Can you please add more info for the output pictures, which lights are on? Are the low-beams on or just the foglights?

Looks good! i used to run 3000k and 5000k HID fogs in my old e39 loved the light output.

i remember in 05 i paid 250 for a high quality kid which didn't give me any issues with errors etc.

now you can go and blind those jerks that threw rocks at your house lol
