Would you lease F10 with G30 around the corner ?

The 2017 G30 will probably be available to order in Q4 of 2016 the latest if not earlier. That's basically half way into a 36/39mo lease on the F10 (+/- pull ahead).

Given that its a lease I really don't care about any possible early production quirks.

Would you still pull the trigger on the F10 ?

Just picked up a 2015 528xi in Dec. on a 39 month lease. I would've waited but feel the early production quirks and initial residuals/rates would be unfavorable. So I'm glad on the choice I made.

It depends on how valuable your time is. The G30's will be on a brand new platform with brand new engines (except for the 550 which will carryover a modified version of the N63tu), so there will most likely be a few extra trips to the Dealership.
I personally would wait and order a 2018.

I don't like the idea of owning a new line of car in the first year. So if you get a 2018 at the end of 2017 that's about 32-33 months from now. You can either get a 36 month lease and hope they offer for you to turn it in 3 months early (in exchange for leasing a new car, which they've been known to do) or you can see the pricing on a 24 month lease, but the money factors and residuals aren't always THAT attractive on those.

I've owned a first year e46, a first year F10, and a first year F15. And not a one of them was ever in the "shop". I did order them mid production year though. FWIW all were February builds. For me the issue is the design and features. For the most part we are in the dark about that. If you need/want a car...pull the trigger on the F10. The G30 will always be there waiting and still fresh after 36-39 months at this point.

I'm of the camp that doesn't believe in being a first year guinea pig. Some first yr models are perfection and others aren't. IMO, the 2015s will be the most reliable F10s around with most, if not all, of the quirks long gone.
Also, the vast majority of the public wouldn't know a new BMW from last years model.
I owned a 2002 MB for 10 years and the 'public' continually complimented me on my 'new' car.

I just ended my '12 F10 528i lease and got confused on what car to get next since I got '14 F15 X5 already. After went through with all of my options, I left the dealership with late '14 F10 Activehybrid 5 for the wife. Thinking by the time 36 months lease ended, the G30 should be ready to take home.

If the G30 looks anything like the spy pictures of the next 7 series, better get the F10 now.

I am not entirely sure the G30 will be availabe in late 2016, if so the F10 will have see the shortest ever production run of any 5.
They normally last about 8 years. the the F10 is just in its 5th year now.
I don't think we will see the G30 before a MY18.
E28 1981-1988 7 years
E34 1987-1995 8 years
E39 1996-2002 8 years
E60 2003-2010 7 years
F10 2010-2016? 6 years

That said, the current 7 was launched a year before the F10, so IF we get a new 7 in 2016, we may see a MY17 5, but I still think it will be MY18.

I'd go with another F10 5 or 6 series. With regards to the G30, I would wait for the LCI

Agreed. BMW missed the boat on the new 7.

However, perhaps in the flesh with the M Sport package, etc., it will be sharp.

Regarding leasing a new F10 right now. Absolutely.

It will be many years before G30 is actually available. Additionally, upon its release (whether it is good looking or not) it will be very hot and deals will not be able to be had. Additionally, as many mention, avoid the first model year.

One more thing, I have been leasing BMW's for many years. Not once have I even come close to riding out the entire lease term. You can always get out of these leases quite easily (another reason not to get too heavy on MSD's).

I'd get the car that's here and now. If you like the F10, get it. Banking on what COULD be with a future vehicle is silly, especially if you're leasing. You can get out of the lease if you truly MUST have have the new 5 when it arrives. Otherwise, enjoy the F10 - it's an incredible car - and wait for the second year of the G30. No big deal honestly.

According to my estimations, the G30 (next 5 series?) will come out in 2017 as a 2018 model. How is that around the corner?

Right, 2018 is not around the corner. Its just that your "estimations" are wrong.

good approach.....stress free...

Especially since I am really beginning to realize how much I like the F10 as I am test driving different cars.
