Hi fellow forum members. I hope you are doing good. I was hoping to get some information for retrofitting PDC. My car is a BASE 528i and doesn't really have any options. I was looking to add PDC to the car and probably want to DIY it. I've tried to search up some stuff but haven't run across anything concrete for the F10 in particular.

My first concern is cost. I tried to search up the sensors and I'm finding prices of $200+ per sensor. If that's the case then I'm dropping the whole idea.

Also would anyone be able to point me to additional parts I would need. I believe I need the sensors, the brackets, and the wiring. Will I also need a ECU? Also what other parts would I need.

I appreciate any input or direction to the correct thread if it's already been discussed.

Looking into that as well but having the same issue with cost of parts. Any suggestions on what it might run as far as costs.

I'm looking towards keeping it OEM and the OEM pack from bimmertech cost $1200.

Find a wrecked car and that route would be much cheaper.

Most of everything is plug and play and then some coding.

Luck is on your side as most F10s have parking sensors, so it should not be that difficult to get one.

Does anyone have any recommendations for where I can find a wrecked car. I've tried calling a handful of salvage yards around me and I'm falling short every time.

I usually tell a junk yard what I need and they usually do the search for the part for me.

Haha yeah tried that. The only one that bothered to check quoted me about $600 for just sensors and that too all mixed colors. Now I'm just thinking about going backup camera only.
If someone could clarify for me, is rear PDC required for backup camera. I've read that in a lot of places and don't want to end up retrofitting a backup cam and if not working.

Rear Camera is a standalone option. My car has neither PDC nor Backup Camera. I have retrofitted backup camera only.

Yeah that's what makes sense to me but for example bimmertech says that you have to have pdc for the oem pack. If you don't mind me asking where did you get your parts from. Cost?

My 2014 LCI 535i didn't come with the LED lights and it has the standard round xenon lights.

I wanted to do a OEM retrofit so looking towards original equipment. But thank you so much for your input. How is the quality of the MMI if you don't mind me asking.

I assume you are talking about the Halos of the car and in the case of the F10 platform all halos are round if I'm not mistaken. Even on the LED pack, the Halos are going to be rounded.

AFAIK the LEDs are a different shape. Check autotrader and such for pictures.

I am about to do the PDC front and rear plus backup camera, still getting some parts together, I currently have the bemmertech OEM intergration camera installed now and it is working great but I cant update the software in my car with ISTA because it is seeing it as it is not installed, but to add the OE camera you need to have at least rear PDC installed,

It has a full screen HD video. I like it better than the OEM's look.

So do you have rear pdc already installed? Or since it's not installed it won't update the ISTA?

I want to do this retrofit aswell mind telling me what the part numbers are ?
