Hi guys..

Is there different 6WB for diesel and petrol (benzin)?
Or its the vehicle VIN and coding which set that?

best regards

I'm confused. Do the LCI models offer this? I have a 2015 and don't see this when I select sport+, but maybe I'm doing something wrong...

If you have 2015+, you have a digital cluster. You'll have to go into your settings to make the changes. I had a 2015 F06 and it had a digital cluster.

It does work, but only when the HUD is turned off. However, I've not gotten the top half of the cluster to light up. Not sure what that part would show.

That doesn't sound right. The cluster on the HUD should go into sport mode. You need to take your car into your dealership and talk with the BMW genius.

See photo below. It should look like that in sport mode in the right setting.

Which settings did you change?
I don't think that I have the same panel.

Sorry, I just notice you have a 5 series. Only 2015+ 6 series and 2014+ 7 series have the all LCD cluster.

This is the primary reason I'm buying another F10 instead of a F01. I just don't like this cluster in person. The Extended Black Panel cluster of the F10 is simply nicer and easier on the eye. I like the blend of analog and digital. Any manufacture can just stick an LCD screen there and make the cluster look like a video game. Having analog style dials and a blend of black panel LED/LCD technology is much more of an engineering accomplishment. The same full digital display is on the G11 so this is the future I guess

You see, even on the full lcd, the fuel gauge and oil temp are analog. But, they made them 2d and not 3d so they won't compete with the 2d speedo and tach.

But, I have grown used to it and I like it.

I like it because there is better integration with speed limit signs. The digital cluster shows a red zone when speed limit (local) exceed.

The thing that sold me on the analog display being better than full digital was the cruise control setting. Its so amazing. There are a ring of hidden OLED's around the circumference of the speedometer for every mile per hour. These individual OLED lights up for the specific speed you set. On the F10 the color is amber when you have not yet reached the speed and a green one lights up when you're at it. Having two sets of OLED's for every mile per hour is way over engineered but I love it.

This is exactly the type of engineering I love BMW for. The feature is nearly unless if you have headsup display because the same info is show there and there's no reason to even look at the cluster. But even so... Having a full LCD cluster display the info isn't impressive. 200+ OLED's to serve this minor display function 95% of people won't notice is amazing.

Here's a video of it working in the E90. These were single color LED's. The F10's have both green and amber. Look at the way the light LED's move up from the bottom when the cruise control is turned on. Really shows how many there are

LOL! You've been fooled matey.

I hate to be the one to break it to ya!

There are not hundreds of OLEDS.

There are just a couple of OLEDS attached to a spinning disk or otherwise kinetically driven pointer.

Although, I am sure the BMW engineers involved with the development of the CC display would be proud to know they got you to believe it was really hundreds of OLEDS.

The giveaway is the fact that the spinning disk/kinetically driven pointer fails to line up at demarcated speeds each time. Also, OLEDS would always be perfectly aligned. That's one thing I now like about the digital cluster, it always lines up since it consists of pixels.

Post Brand new 6WB Kombi retrofit + updated Psdzdata

Hi all,

Have just recently purchased a brand new 6WB Kombi for retrofit. However, while trying to inject CAFD files for coding (following the threads from ShawnSheridan), I have realized that the latest PSdZdata version that I have available (v54) became outdated and therefore wasn't able to find and code. Seems that there is a new update from August 2015 so called v.3.56.3 which should contain CAFD / SWFL files needed.

I would highly appreciate if someone could help here, as I'm already a bit anxious for being able VO code such retrofited Kombi and see the results!!!!

Thanks a lot to all of you posting such usefull information about retrofiting and understanding our bimmers, specifically for ShawnSheridan from which I've already read thousands of interesting pages.....

Best regards,

What is that third blue and white screen. My purchase and install only has comfort and sport mode, the first two screens...

Thanks, I kind of thought that after I posted that question. I can say, for under 2 grand, one of the BEST mods for our cars and bimmertech.net is outstanding at coding it into your car...

Error after installing 6WB coding esys

Hi all,
Just did an install of an 6WB into an F11 2010. Nothing worked before coding, and I did the following as :
Coding was just a matter of adding 6WB to the VO, changing VO Production date to 1211, and VO Coding DKombi and HU_CIC.
After that The 6WB was working correctly, but got the following errors:
- Lane change warning failure
- Park Assis. Park yourself
- Front-end collision warning failure
- Speed limit failure
Do any one have any suggestion for solving this?
Thanks

That could be the problem. I'm pretty sure BMW wasn't around in 1211...

Sorry... Couldn't resist.
