F10 520 as towcar ?
Good morning. My first post here. I'm very tempted by the new 520, have driven the manual , although I'd order the auto. My question is , I need to tow a trailer , gross weight 1660Kg. I note that the towing capacity is 2000Kg, although the kerbweight of the car is approximately the same as the trailler loaded. Has anybody had any experience towing with a 520, either trailer or caravan and can you recommend it ? Thanks.

Haven't tried it myself but I have an F11 520d Touring with the electrical tow hitch on order. Diesels are excellent towing vehicles due to the great torque on low revs and 184 hp and 380 Nm will be more than enough to tow your trailer.

The weight on the tow hitch should not be very much. Almost all weight should rest on the wheels of the trailer. But I guess the self levelling suspension helps anyway.
