Completely agree with you there and great advice. The price difference between the stealers and indy or specialists it is so much and with people like you sharing their experiences helps a lot of BMW owners on how to take on with the servicing. Main dealers say you must have BM history, but servicing is servicing, and a reputable indy is just as good post warranty in my eyes.
In the Lotus world, Indy servicing is "better" than main dealers, as they care, and go beyond the tick box exercise, and people positively look for indy servicing but a well known one, different example I appreciate. I used an Indy for some damage that was done to my F10 when someone tried to steal it, and it was immaculate, significantly cheaper and I would go back to him in a heart beat, recommended by a lot of BM owners on line, MJF Engineering nr Dorking. It depends where in Surrey you are? but I am mid Sussex, travelling between surrey/Sussex/hants to see clients.
