5 months delivery. A record?
So I ordered my 530d at the end of May and after multiple delivery promises my dealer now says it will be delivered Week 45 (w/c 4th November) which makes it over 5 months from order This is a UK delivery so no long boat trips. Can anyone beat this?

I don't think anyone would even want to compete here :P I once waited for a month for a car that was produced and was even located only a few miles away from my city to be delivered, but nothing as close to your 5 mo...

I was about to get a 328i which was only launched around a month ago in India...diesel versions were available in a month or two depending on what colour you chose but the 328i had a wait-time of 6 months and that too was not a gauranteed commitment...
(for the F30 i mean) |

Yikes. Ordered 8/19 and will take delivery 9/25. Can't imagine my frustration in your scenario given my anticipation despite my very short wait.

Took 3 months for my optioned up 328i. Apparently, there was a shortage of N20 engines.

Hooray! Car is ready for delivery NOW!
But..... I go on holiday on Wednesday so I have to delay delivery until the 12th November. But..... I might have to fly out to Boston on business on the 12th November so will have to delay delivery until the 19th November. But..... I've been offered a transfer to the US and if goes ahead I might have to cancel the car altogether (dealer has very kindly agreed to accept a £10k cancellation fee on a delivery mileage, fully specced 530d. How generous) It looks like I'm fated never to drive this car.

I reckon if you speak to BMW UK and explain your situation, they may make you a better offer...worth a phone call at least..??? |
