Feels good to be back! Lets start modding!!
After a hiatus of 3yrs, I finally was able to take ownership of my 5th BMW. A brand new to me CPO 2012 535i M-Sport Xdrive in Dark Grey Metallic II. Lurking on the boards for a while now and the wealth of information is great!
Here she is when I picked her up... Let the modding begin!! First I changed out the grills... Plasti dipped my rims, door handles, front and rear reflectors... Tinted the windows at 20%... HID fogs... Quad tips painted flat black with V style M5 carbon fiber rear diffuser... Carbon fiber trunk spoiler... That's it for now. I'll update as things go on. |

What color PlastiDip did you use? I have the same DGII/Sophisto GrauII (B90) colour and also want to paint the chrome of the repeaters. I also want to do the chrome trim around the door frames.
Also, VERY nice job!! |

I used the regular black without the glossifier. I put about 5 coats and so far with all the snow we've been having it's all held up great. |

Looks flippin' sweet! Where did you get the diffuser from? Wondering if I should do the same with the plastidip? Instead of ordering the JBSpeed? Like how you added the quad tips!

Nice Find! I have a DGII as well. I see you are local? Who did you work with at Park Ave? I went to look for a white '12 535ix with M-Sport at Park Ave about a month and the sales guy was a douche so we just walked.
Same question about the rear diffuser... fitment looks good! Maybe ill see you around the island! |

The rear diffuser I got from RW Carbon. Great guys and were very helpful. I waited s few weeks for it but was worth the wait. I definitely wanted the more aggressive looking diffuser because I really didn't see too many people with them and also to be a bit different. The quads were a major score. After reading so many post on different quad installs this was the best option in my opinion. I wanted to keep my stock mufflers for now and it worked out perfect! Vorsteiner rims are on order and will finish out the look You'll def see me around |

Looks good !! your modding is clean !
Im a bit surprised though that you did not pick a BMS stage 1 while at it. For the price and gains that it offers, its a no brainer.

If you would like to add more performance mods in the future ( catless DP and intake) get the JB4.

I actually have been trying to decide if I should go for the BMS or Racechip. I know there has been a lot of back and forth between the two. I'm still on the fence hence the reason I have not picked one up.

JB stage 1 is very easy to install, proven to work safely by thousands of users. It is also very flexible allowing you to add boost at anytime without any tuning experience if you wish to get more power out of your car.

No need to cut and modify. snap off the old one and replace it with the new one and everything other then the sensors snaps right in. Here is the thread I followed: http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthre...+m+tech+bumper I removed the rear bumper and installed the diffuser for a close to perfect fit. I had to play with it a little but the end result was to my satisfaction. I made no adjustments to the exhaust. It cost me $50 to have the shop near me to weld on the tips. |

Wow...Thanks for the reply with pictures and explanation! Since I don't have comfort access I don't need that part. That diffuser you got is the exact one I'm getting. I like it much better than the vorsteiner because of the more aggressive fins! Also, about how close are the stock tips to the diffuser...Looks pretty close huh?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Exhaust-tips...2209de&vxp=mtr Just make sure that you don't need that part so the diffuser will fit. Can someone can chime in and confirm that? This is by far the easiest mod if you want to keep your stock exhaust but want that quad look without waking up the neighborhood lol. |
