Grey Shadow Cloth/Alcantara Upholstery
Hi All,
Looking at changing to 535D M Sport Touring (very good deals going at the moment!) and was thinking about going for the Grey Shadow Cloth/Alcantara interior. I don't particularly like leather but the dealer doesn't have any cars with this to view and I was looking for some feedback from anyone who has this. Thanks in advance Gordon R.. |

I had it mine and it's much nicer than Dakota leather IMO - does the resale no good at all though because people "expect" leather apparently - even if it's cheap and greasy.

I have the 535D M Sport on order with Cashmere Beige Merino leather, it really makes a huge difference to the interior. The basic leather looks like plastic to me.

There is a significant RV hit on this - I watched a virtually brand new (As in 3 months old when it first appeared) 530d M Sport sit on the AUC site for months and months before eventually disappearing at well under £30k.
An absolute bargain for somebody but clearly the level of demand for it was almost non existent.

Thanks to all and after a chat with the dealer it would appear you are all correct. Since I am on a PCP this will hit the residual value hard so it looks like its back to the leather.
The last two cars were Oyster Black so think its time for a change and opted for the the black with exec stitching. Looks ok in the cars I looked at and should be easier to keep clean. I'll start a separate thread with some detail on what I have ordered. Thanks again for your advice. |
