Slight Vibration at Highway Speeds
OK, I thought I had this issue resolved, but I still have it. I have Avant Garde 19" wheels (hub bore 72.56mm, same as stock) and initially had Continental DWS tires. The setup was never really smooth and I as felt some slight vibration around 70mph. I had the tires Road Force Balanced several times by Discount Tire (where I bought the wheels and tires) and 2 other shops. Each time I the shops would make very minor adjustments (less than a half of an ounce) to one of the wheels, yet the vibration would never completely go away.
Finally Discount Tire decided that the Continentals were just not a good match for the car and gave me full credit toward a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports even though my tires were nearly 10 months old. The Michelins definitely are a better tire, but there is still a slight vibration around 70mph. Since I never really drove the car much before putting on the 19" wheels, I don't really know if the problem is with the wheels and tires and not the car. I guess I should take the car into the dealer and see if they can locate the issue but I have read many similar posts about vibration and was wondering if anyone found a source of the vibration that wasn't in the wheels and tires. |

My 528 has had a vibration between 70-75 mph from day one. Slight but still annoying...

If they verified that the wheels are not bent at all on the balance machine then its safe to say its the car. I would def. swap back in the stock wheels and take it in to the dealer.

My dealer swapped out my wheels a couple of months ago when I took my car in for the Pulling to the Right issue. They typically remove aftermarket wheels and temporarily install the OEM ones as a troubleshooting tool. I was impressed that they didn't just try to blaim the aftermarket wheels/tires. Hopefully I'll have the same experience this time around as I am taking the car in either tomorrow or Monday.

^^ that is exceptional service by a dealer. Most of them would blame the aftermarket stuff right off the bat and not even bother troubleshooting.

As an aside (but important) - I would be careful bringing a car with non-runflats into the dealer.
My dealer is adamant (that's not even a strong enough word) about not deviating from stock configuration. My dealer wouldn't touch a car with PSS's (hence my initial hesitation before spending $1100 on two bubbled tires). |

My dealer never said a work about the non run flat tires when I took my car in for the Pulling to the Right problem. All they said was that they noticed the problem, put a set of OEM tires and wheels on it and still noticed the problem, then continued to fix the problem. Hopefully they will do the same again.

ptyboy25, you have vibration with the M5 replicas that you didn't have with the OEMs. I would check the hub bore on your replicas. The OEM spec is 72.56mm. Many wheels have the larger 74.1mm hub bore which requires hub rings to prevent the vibration.
