Need Help on the interior wood trim

Hi,

I just notice there are so many hairline scratches on the interior wood trim of my car. I wonder if I can "hide" them with wax or sealant? Anyone has the same issue? Can you share what product will you use?

Thanks!

Try Zymol cleaner wax. Simple to use and it's water base.

I have the same issue. I drove an E90 for six years with wood trim that held up so well. It still looked brand new when I sold it this year. My F10 550i on the other hand with Anthracite trim scratches the moment you rub your fingers on it. I can't believe BMW cut corners on this. BMW needs to fire the manufacturer. I should've picked the Aluminum hexagon trim.

The aluminium trim scratches very easily to, and because it is cheap and extremely thin you cant brush it or do anything but replace the panel one you have a scratch.

Wow. Now I don't have buyers remorse. You just saved me $600 to swap it out. Thank you so much for that info. I guess at this point, all I can do is tell my kids, "don't touch!"

I also had an 6 year old E90 with dark wood, and it still look perfect when I sold it few months ago. Now in my F10 with Anthracite trim, it has so many fine scratches since the day I got the car.

I have ordered the Swissvax Wood Wax, and I am going to receive it next week. Hope this will "fix" this issue.

Not sure a wax will remove scratches. You need to remove the scratches with a fine machine polish. Your interior has clear coat on it just like your paint. You need to take down the clear coat a small bit to reduce or eliminate the scratches. Try a very fine machine polish and then use something like P21s Auto Cleanse. After that, use your favorite paste wax or sealant.
