Cleaning Airbox

Coming from an E92 the process was slightly more difficult. First off there are 8 screws instead of clips. No problem.

My question is can the engine air filter be installed incorrectly in the F10 535 (say upside down)? Or is it designed in a way that will only allow the cover to close if the filter is sitting in its designed place? Can't find a DIY on the forums...

Appreciate any pointers.

The filter will only fit in one way, it is foolproof
