Sorry for bumping an old thread but I had a question...

I am currently running a Stage 1 BMS tune on my 2011 BMW 535i. If I buy the USB data cable, can I increase my "boost over stock" psi via laptop? Or can I only do this with the JB4 tune? Thanks in advance guys.

You only need the USB cable to increase boost over stock on the JB3/Stage 1.

You cannot adjust it with the Stage 1. You need the JB4 to run more boost.

Wait, I think this info is incorrect. With the USB and the N55 Stage 1, changes can be made to the boost level.

Do you guys have any feedback or thought with having the Stage 1 on your car? Anyone try other tunes where they can give personal feedback? Any CEL lights or issues that were not able to be resolved?

BigDeep1 i highly recommend this tune. It is like driving a new car, not to mention the versatility of it. You can easily go in and change settings like boost PSI with ease that other tunes simply do not offer. Granted JB4 is the only tune ive had, but i just feel like its much safer and trustworthy than other tunes on the market. Burger is such a widely known name in this community so its good to know that there are sooo many other users that DONT have issues with it.

The first time you floor it with your new JB4 you will get the classic reaction. I had it and everyone else i know that installed it had it. Its that much of a difference.

You cannot change it even with the USB cable with the Stage1. There are options to make the changes. But it does nothing if you manually change it. You will need the Stage2/JB4 to raise boost.

The original Stage 1's had the ability to switch boost level with USB cable. I've got an X3 with stage 1 and cable and changed from 3.5 to 4.5 after I installed intake and noticeable difference from 3.5 particularly on highway. Beat a 135is from stop and highway role, I'm probably 600-700 pounds heavier clearly making much more power than the IS.

I think they stopped selling them with the ability to switch once stage 2 came out. Maybe find a used one or get the stage 2 if ok with the extra wires. Not an option for my X3 though.
