Ok well flame suit on.. I purchased a pair after doing some research and finding out they are manufactured by OBX. I've actually had good luck with their products and fitment on n54's, subarus, and mitsu's so I pulled the trigger. That seller's listing is completely wrong on application and I was even pointed to another vendor's listing to show they work for the SUV's only. Either way I took a chance and bought them.
THEY DO NOT FIT. The pipe is too short and the flange is welded offset. This wasn't going to be an issue however I noticed the pipes 'resonators' barely hit the back of the valve covers. If about an inch or so was added up top it would create enough clearance and the flange leveled out they would work. The only other thing is rear o2 placement is questionable however a right angle adapter to space it out should take car of it. They were cheap and worth a shot... in my case not worth the time to figure out so I purchased a pair of AR's from rborgia Flange is too far down and it's welded on an angle. |

What'd you ever do with these? I'm interested in seeing if they'd fit an X5M instead.
I've been researching them for about a week now, writing eBay sellers who eventually gave me a phone number, which in turn ended up being OBX, as you know. After pointing out on www.realoem.com that the factory downpipes fit multiple 4.4l TT platforms, they said they're going to change their ads. I was more interested in the resonator-less version, so I'm curious if they'd have a different fitment. I saw the resonator portion as was curious about tolerances as well, but I'm doing this on an X5M, so I'm going to assume that I'd have more room compared to an F10. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Becker-Perfo...209bd3&vxp=mtr - resonatorless version, putting the flex pipe in the same location where Agency Power puts them - http://www.ebay.com/itm/AP-X6M-171-A...200708&vxp=mtr Last edited by m5james; 09-03-2015 at 08:56 PM.. |
