Profile management
In my car, I have one of my keys set for everything I like (climate control, preset buttons, driving modes, seat position, etc.). It also includes my partner's preferences for the passenger seat & climate control.
In a couple of weeks, I'm going on a long trip with someone else. I want her to be able to set the seat memory and all other passenger-side functions for the trip, but when I get home, I want to restore the profile that has my partner's settings. I also want to have a separate profile (on the same key) for when my traveling companion drives the car. My thought was to take the current profile and use either a copy or a "Save as..." feature, but neither of those exist. I figured that my only option would be to save the profile to a USB device (call it "Me", create a new profile "Me2", upload the old one (Me2 = Me1) and she can change her settings. Still not sure how to deal with creating an additional profile for her as the driver. Any suggestions?

Just make a backup of your profile to a USB device, and restore it when you get back.
You can copy the profile file using a computer and name it anything you like, then import it to another profile if you want, and change settings. It would probably be easiest to switch to the Guest profile before someone else is going to drive using your keys. |

Honestly, it sounds like too much work for some seat settings. It takes me about 15 seconds to re-adjust the seat if it's been moved - isn't it considerably more time/effort to mess around with profiles, USB drives, back-up and restoring, etc?

Maybe more time to deal with the USB and profiles, but also much more interesting to the technology geeks that we are. Besides, with about 40 hours in the car for this trip, fascination trumps expedience.

I also found that my multi-contour seat has seen multiple adjustments over time and it's now exactly the way I want it. It would be a big timesaver to simply plug in a thumb drive and save (and subsequently restore) the settings if I knew they were potentially going to be lost.
