Sunroof --- Cleaning of area between glass & sunroof

OK local experts...I've got a problem you might have an answer to. So the surface on my sunroof on the opposite side of the interior cabin/headliner is getting very dirty.

I'm talking about the space that we general don't have easy access to.

Anyways...wanted to see if there is a method to opening just the glass portion of the sunroof. That way, I can have clear access to the surface in question. I need to vacuum it.

Thanks!

Btw...I've searched throughout our forum w/o any success. Was hoping someone has figured out a way but never really shared it.

Really? No body here is bothered by the stuff that eventually builds up just on the other side of the sunroof's liner?

I may have to fabricate a special tool to allow me to reach in and vacuum out the stuff. But if someone already knows of a better way...please share.

Thanks in advance!

I'd like to know too.
I've tried to get one of those mini vacuum attachments to do the job. But no go.

Not so effective.

Not expert I wouldn't bother taking anything off because how everything is aligned.
If you move anything out of alignment you could be screwed.

What I'm wondering is what to do with the weather stripping fading. Is there anything to be done besides replacing it?

You made me go and look at mine and after 4 years, it's still clean as a whistle. I am not sure how yours got so dirty, maybe you vent yours with the shade closed .

If mine was dirty, I'd just use one of those bendable static dusters (aka "Mei Ling Long Duster") and just snake it up there.

Yeah...maybe I am just OCD, but I can tell there is built-up dust that bugs me. Imagine that, I don't care much about the build-up of dust in my engine bay (where I can easily clean) but it bugs me that can't clean the dust in my sunroof.
