RANT: What happens when ur son borrows the car!

My son decides He wants to borrow the car even tho He has his own. Being a cool Dad I said "Fine...PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be careful with it!" Long story short He said He didn't do it and it must have been there before He used it . Are you freakin' kidding me! It took all of my soul not to rip his head off his body! I think most of you feel the same about your car So I know it's just not me...anyways Lesson learned... never let them use your car. On a plus side the wife gave me an okay to add new wheels to the mods-list

It happens, go easy on him....first one should be free .
Everybody's done that at some point, or somehow damaged their parent's or their own first car. After hitting a pothole last week, I'm dropping off my own rim to be fixed tomorrow.

Those look very nice, but at the end of the day it's just a rim damage, not worth "really" stressing over.

My son is 2 years away yet from asking, but he can borrow his mothers car instead of mine.

2 part teachable moment that will apply for the rest of his life.

1. Cameras are ubiquitous, and will be omnipresent for your son's generation. Tell your son to always take pictures or video prior to driving anothers' car---be it Dad's or a rental.

2. Take pictures or video when returning said car.

3. If the damage is not in #1, but clearly in #2, be a man and fess up---if there were any egregious violation here, it wasn't the damage, it was being a pussy about what he has done.

4. Since you didn't really teach him anything, I would give him another chance after explaining all of this.

5. If kid fesses up, the trouble he gets in should be far less than what you have now.

Wondering how old your son is. Did the wife approve the new wheels before or after the mishap? How in the world did he gouge them all the way up the spoke like that?

I've been looking at the damages and I'm wondering how the heck He did it? The scrape comes up high on the spoke. Curb rash is normal on the edge of the rim...but high up on the spoke...I have no idea?

If it's the back left I'm guessing one of those castle wall-curbs they have at drive-thru's.
