Soft close doors

Am I overlooking something or are soft close doors no longer an option on the 5 series? I don't find them on the BMW site for configuration.

Did I not get that email?

The convenience package only appears under the 550. Was that package dropped for the 528/535 or is the "build your own" wrong?

Looks like the ZCV Option aka (Convenience Package) is only available for the 550i and 550xi for model year 2012.

Wow that sucks for the lower model guys.
I love the soft close doors, cars without it feel so archaic and cheap.

The regional differences are really strange...

I have soft close doors on my MY 2012 520d; here it's not included in any package (it used to be on the E60), just available separately.

Could you not try just ordering separately? - the factory must be set up to provide it like that.

Someone on this board did mention that you can order this separately at $600.

Thats the kind of logic that saw the steering wheel replaced by the joystick in all those "futuristic" concept cars.....

Anything lower than the 550 don't have the soft close for 2012. Gotta go for an 11 if you want it.

I was told this is only temporary and there is a supply issue with components.. Of course, dealers can be wrong.

A similar thing happened to the 6 series back in 2006 with comfort access and soft close doors.

Time will tell.

Agree on the possible shortage. We have a 2011 535xDrive with the convenience package and soft close doors. We also just took delivery of a 2012 Catbon Black M sport (His Car!) and the soft clsose doors could not be ordered...not in any package for 2012 535. Not good BMW.
