New F10 and some questions?

Traded in my 991 and picked up a left over 2013 535i. My first 5 series after 3 M3s, few 3 series and x5. Also many non bmw high performance cars previously and very impressed so far. Few questions if you can help me.

1. This auto on/off start reactivates itself each time. My 2011 M3 seems to stay off when deactivate once. Is this not the same with 5 series.
2. How do I know if I have NBT?
3. My music graph from iPhone using Bluetooth do not show, but it was showing when I test drove the 2014 3 series, is the model year the only explanation or am I missing something.
4. My HUD only shows speed and nav, anyway to show more or require coding which I will do.
I have bmw hi if premium which was a 7-800 upgrade, is this system any better than base?
5. Anyone change to 20" without lowering! big gap? And does 21" do the same?

Thank you.

-It can be coded to be off always, or to remember the last setting in which you left it.
- Auto Start-Stop function to start as last used
CAS => 3000 => TC_MSA_MEMORY => aktiv
- Auto Start-Stop OFF by default
CAS => 3000 => TC_MSA_DEFAULT_OFF => aktiv
2. How do I know if I have NBT?
-During 2012 BMW transitioned from the HU_CIC to the HU_NBT. You have NBT.
4. My HUD only shows speed and nav, anyway to show more or require coding which I will do.
- Enable HUD Entertainment and Telephone display
KOMBI => 3000 => HUD_ENTERTAINMENT_ENABLE => aktiv (Enables radio menu)
KOMBI => 3000 => HUD_TELEFONBUCH_ENABLE => aktiv (Should display full contact list)
KOMBI => 3000 => HUD_TELEFONANRUF_ENABLE => aktiv (Enables recent calls list to be displayed)
KOMBI => 3000 => HUD_SPRACHEINGABE_ENABLE => aktiv (Display voice command conformation information in HUD)
- Enable HUD Turn Signals display
KOMBI => 3008 => HUD_PIA_BLINKER => aktiv
KOMBI => 3000 => BLINKER_HUD_ENABLE => aktiv
HU_NBT => 3001 => HUD_TURNSIGNAL => aktiv

Oops! My bad, I read "or require coding which I will do." to mean that you will do your own coding.

You do have options for coding...some folks have theirs done remotely, and some in person. Please PM me if you want some referrals in either, or both, directions.

ASS coded

My dealer actually offered to code my ASS button free of charge and did so. Unfortunately they feigned ignorance on being able to code mirrors or auto-close trunk from FOB. The latter was just a test on my part to see how open the service dept. was to catering to a new customer/owner. I was a little disappointed, but not surprised. I'll do a coding session (long distance via internet) with a forum member once I decide what I really, really want/need.

BMW has authorized dealers to recode the Auto Stop Start function to remember the last setting, for owners that want that on their 2012 and 2013models. 2014's have this feature coded as such from the factory. I doubt they will do any other coding at the dealer, still doesn't hurt to ask.

That's correct, the dealer won't/ cannot code anything else.

We are fortunate we are able to code ours cars the way we want. I can code E/F chassis cars, in person or remotely.

Updating the maps data is also something we can do. Unfortunately, that doesn't change/ improve the bad routing algorithms in the nav.

If you didn't know what ASS was, this could sound pretty crude and invasive... Seems like a line you'd hear at a shady night club.

Funny, I'd like to get a 991. Why did you sell it?
