Call Goodyear. Your tires are under 1 year road hazard warranty. Goodyear told me to advise them if dealer isnt co-operating.

First of all, I just wanted to introduce myself. I just ordered a 2013 535i Dark Metallic II with the Oyster / Black interior.
I currently own a E39 M5 which I've had since new in May 2000. Finally decided to move on. The Beast has served me well and I guess I'm getting old enough that a stick shift in Atlanta traffic is no longer "thrilling" like it use to be. Anyways, this is the first time I've ordered a car and mine's currently in production. I'm working with a dealer out of Bowling Green Kentucky. They're a combination Mercedes / BMW dealer. They've been great so far and I got the car for what I consider to be an excellent price (Invoice plus $350) and they waived their normal $599 doc fee (which I told them was a BS fee anyways). The only option I really was considering from the finance department was the tire / wheel insurance. I live in Midtown Atlanta, and the potholes around here are brutal. They offered me the insurance fro $1149 (which is a heck of a lot less than what the Atlanta dealers were offering). However, they are recommending that I get the Mercedes Benz version of the insurance. Its called their 1st Class Wheel and Tire protection Plus. This is a 5 years of coverage and the key reason why he says its better is that it covers "cosmetic" damage to wheels (whereas the BMW version does not). When asked, he said that either a BMW or Mercedes shop can will replace my wheels / tires if I make a claim). Its administered by the same company that the BMW insurance is administered by. Safe-Guard here in Atlanta. Anyways, I was wondering if any of you folks had any experience with this insurance and getting claims paid? Appreciate any feedback. Thanks Victor 2000 M5 (Titanium Silver - looking for a new home) 2013 535i (Currently in production) |

I had BMW Wheel & Tire insurance here in Canada on my first F10, 535i my insurance with them covered tire replacement, wheel replacement and the fixing of curb rash. I had to use the insurance 3 times as a result of nails in my Goodyear LS2 Run Flats, I don't know what it is with these tires but they sure pick up nails very easy. On all 3 times, I simply brought my car to my dealer, they looked after calling the insurance and getting the claim approved and changing the tires. I took the same insurance on my F10 535XI.

Call me unlucky, but I've had 3 bubbles in 5 weeks of ownership of my f10 550xi msport. That totals the amount of bubbles I've had on tires in the past 17 years, including owning a gs400, e55, and m5. Needless to say, it's not because they're low profile. These tires canNOT handle anything int he road. Im so fed up, that despite having the tire insurance from BMW, Im ready to swap them all out or get rid of the car.

My story is a little different. I have a 2012 535 ix with the LS2 runflats. I hit a pot hole last week on the driver side and since then it feels like the car is driving over gravel. I took it to the dealer and told them that I thought the the tires were damaged. I just received a call back from the dealer and they told me the tires are fine, but the rims are bent and they need to be replaced. How can that be possible.

Good Year
I had a bubble in my front tire. called Good Year and they suggested a local dealer to get it replaced. After initial trouble with BMW dealer, they replaced free of charge. I have seen documentation with BMW dealer saying GoodYear will replace tires due to road hazard as well.

I've never had a flat on my M5 in the last 12 years of driving (knock on wood). So, I immediately thought the insurance was a bad deal. However, I've heard so many horror stories about these RFTs. Also, I'm a bit concerned with the 19" wheels. The C/D review said that the wheels might be too soft for the car's weight. Has anyone bent their wheels? are these Style 351 susceptible to bending?

now i have another bubble on the front driver side (around 12,000 miles). IT'S REALLY IMPORTANT THAT EVERYONE FILE A COMPLAINT!
