535xi Wheel Question: which wheels fit?
I have a 2011 535xi, with sport package.
Stock wheels are 19". I'd like to get some 17"s on it for the winter, with 225/55 R17 studded snows. I've already researched this a bit, and I've found that both BMW style 327 and 236 will fit the car. My question is: does anyone know any OTHER styles, from other series BMW's that might fit? I believe the sport package calipers and rotors are making this a tough fit for most wheels. Any advice here? Thanks! |

for 17" style 395 (from F30 3 series)
You will have to double check the offset to make sure it clears the brake caliper. Front: 17 x 7.5 et37 Rear: 17 x 8.5 et 47 |

oem stock 535xi - can be square and staggered, depends on how you ordered the car. But for winter setup, majority of owners go square setup, pref. 18*8
style 395 - Base on clearance of strut, the front is kind of in the grey area (that is when you are turning in the wheel may strike/rub against the strut), the rear is totally fine. Secondly, you are faced with the issue of the brake caliper clearance, the brakes maybe slightly bigger on the 5 series (compared to the 3 series this wheel comes from), therefore, I cannot say anything at all. My recommendation is to go with 18", I had style 281 before on my 550xdrive (factory winter set package), the reason being the factory setting is 19" and it's recommended to go down by 1 size, not 2 sizes. If the oem stock wheels are out of your budget, take a look at tirerack.com and there are lots of choices there. Sorry, I could not offer you the answer you are looking for. It's better to be safe than sorry, esp. if you bought a 17" set and it turns out it won't fit, then you may be either stuck with them or it will cost you some $ as restocking charge by the dealer.
