Smile 5 Series iDrive Screen, CIC Vs NBT

So I thought that the NBT iDrive system had better processor and a larger storage but when I looked at its screen, everything looks sharper so I thought that the screen has to be of a higher resolution. Well these pics clearly show it..the higher the pixel density of the screen, the darker the screen is. One example of this would be the iPhones with retina display have an almost black screen whereas the earlier ones had a grayish-green screen. Anyways these pics were taking using my iPhone for both the screens, the one with the blueish reflection is the NBT iDrive Screen.

Does anyone know if the CIC and NBT monitors are interchangeable?
Thanks

i believe a bunch of stuff has to change. main thing is BMW changed the gateway module from the CIC to NBT so makes it very difficult and expensive. would be nice. I really like the newer setup and proccessor speed.Video is crisp and fast.
I'm hoping one day it can be done.
