New Member Intro

Hello Forum,

I've been lurking here for a while, researching prior to buying my car. Now that I have the car, I know I will be posting some questions/seeking advice so I figured I should let you guys know who I am.

Quick Background: In late 2006, I sold my beloved E46 coupe to buy my (reasonably priced) dream car, a 2007 Corvette C6. I enjoyed the C6 but being that I recently had my first child and owned two 2-seat sports cars (I also own a 91 300ZX tt), I decided to sell the Vette. I wanted to get something fairly sporty, yet something nice to haul the family around. My wife has a crossover SUV so I decided to go the Euro sedan route thus my search began. Consdering my BMW past, the current gen 5 series had an automatic edge. However I still considered other options including E39, E60, Merc E550, prev gen E63 AMG, Jag XF, Lexus GS350, Audi A6, and even an F30. In the end, the overall package of the 5 series (mix of ride/handling, looks, tech) won me over. I knew I was sacrificing the sportier feel which I normally prefer, but since I still have the Z and this would be the family hauler, the F10 would suffice as long as it at least had sport pkg/DHP. I test drove 535s and 550s. I was pretty content with the power in the 535, but since I knew I might miss the beastly power of the C6, I decided to test drive a 550...done deal! I lucked up and found a 2011 M-sport in the color I wanted, so I went for it. So far I am enjoying it and have come to terms that this is NOT a sports car, rather a fine handling luxury car. But it fits my needs just fine and I will enjoy doing a few more mods to it and maybe even doing some meets in the So Cal area.

Looks like it is dropped already. Nice pickup. I think AW is the best color in the M Sport, but I might be biased.

Yep, they are yellow. I know it's kind of hard to tell in the pic.
