F10 530d-2010-servicing questions?
anyone know how the air filter comes off in this car?
also anyone have some 1st hand knowledge if one can use a vacuum suction tool to suck all the oil out from the dipstick tube to do an oil change? |

my car definitely has an oil dipstick and it is just so much easier through this method than have to go under the car.
have successfully done 8 oil changes via the oil dipstick on my previous E39 530D without any problems. so was wondering if the set up on the f10 allows this too? Last edited by sps; 06-18-2015 at 04:08 AM.. |

No idea, although I service my commercial vehicles and forklift myself I leave the F10 to the dealer. Especially as it has a service pack

like i said before, my car which is an oct 2010 model car definitely has an oil dipstick located on the right hand side of the engine.
may be the later ones did not come with an oil dipstick. I can also check the oil level on i-drive |

Not sure as regards to sucking out the oil through the dipstick however the air filter comes off by pulling the passenger side of the filter towards you until it rotates very sightly then the whole thing lifts upwards from the drivers side.
Hope this helps, Barry
