HUD diagnostics screen displays

Just thought I'd pass this on. I won't take any credit for this as I found it in the coding forums but it's quite cool to look at.
If you have the HUD, press and hold the HUD switch (down below your light swtiches) for around 10 seconds. you'll then get some diag screen pop up, everytime you press the HUD button, the screen changes. Didn't count but there's something like 15 different screens varying from RGB colours and a grid to sample screens , some of which are in Japanese.

Cool!

And also found this , not for the F10 but the E70 but explains the HUD in detail as well and I assume it's pretty much the same for the F10.

This is beyond cool! This is awesome.

Now I understand that a HUD windshield has a wedge shape core fitted by offsetting wedge shaped layers. This prevents a double image. The HUD image is displayed on the front and the back sides of the windshield. The wedge shape causes the two images to offset and appear as one.

It is interesting that they have a fix for warping. This might be due to an inferior windshield. Thus, after getting your HUD windscreen replaced, you should look for warping.

not seen anythig to suggest you can change anything, the diags seem to be there to check that the unit is working correctly / correct windscreen is fitted and to allow an engineer to fine tune it , such as after a windscreen replacement.
Just cool to look at!
