Seek / Fast Forward Songs / Tracks from Steering Wheel

Is there any way to seek / fast forward (not skip / jump) songs / tracks from the steering wheel!?

Isn't this just the rotary button on the right side of the steering wheel or am I missing something in the question.

I think the rotary button will only allow you to select a track/radio station/telephone contact etc

The rotary button on the right side of the steering wheel is the only option, depending on the music source, with my iPod I get to see the songs per artist or album rather than next song, if song playing is the Killers in my current play list, by using the rotary button I get to see the other Killers songs rather than the next one on the playlist I am playing.

I'd be happy if I could advance or go back a song when my iPhone is plugged in from the steering wheel. The only way I can change songs is using the arrow buttons on the far side of the radio. The steering wheel buttons only allow volume control and answering/hanging the phone when it's plugged in.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, the thumb wheel only allows me to start the current playing song again.

Thanks for your replies(!), but to clarify:

The rotary dial / button marked with a YELLOW arrow allows you to skip / jump between songs / tracks, but I would like to seek / fast forward, which is what happens when you hold down the button marked with a RED arrow.

If not possible, it's absurd, as the < > buttons are so far from the steering wheel! The rotary dial / button marked with a GREEN arrow should be able to be programmed to seek / fast forward! It's pretty much useless to me otherwise!

Pleaes advise.

One nice advantage for us driving on the right hand side of the car, the fast forward dash board buttons are on the close side.

What car is that a picture of? The center console is significantly different than mine... Not to mention I've never seen the wood-trim steering wheel like that.

Individual one, option to choose what you like for the trims and leather mainly, the rest is like all other 5 series I guess

It's rather a 7-series interior...

Ah, upon further research it is, indeed, a 7 Series interior. And you know what? I like the 5 better.

Three things are abundantly clear here...
  1. I've hijacked the thread by accident. Sorry.
  2. I do not like the wood inlay wheel. At all.
  3. That example of the Individual package on the 6 Series is a GREAT example that money does not mean taste. Hideous. Looks like a Creamsicle.

Garage List
Can you press and hold the rotary button on the steering wheel, similar to how you press and hold the button on the dash ?

Just tried several different ways / combos / methods of pressing and holding the button, but it does not work as stated!

All it does is jump forward or backward to the next song / track / station, etc. Can you please be more specific?

You know there's a difference between seek / fast forward / rewind and skip / jump, right?

Thanks!
