Replacing door puddle lights with LED?

So I've been trying to get some info on replacing the puddle lights under the door (not the door handle lights) to LED but haven't really found much. For those who have done it, can you answer the following?

1. What size bulbs are needed?
2. Will I need LED bulbs with resistors to not trigger any bulb out warnings?
3. Recommendations on which brand is best?

Thanks in advance !

Get OEM led set from BMW, it is best in color temp and brightness compared to aftermarket.

BMW Logo LED puddle lights

If you like something different get the ghost shadow LED BMW logo lights. They just plug and play by replacing your stock light assy. Very easy to remove and just plug the LED light in and pop into the bottom of the door.

Got them on ebay cheap. see pictures.

Do I have to worry about the fuse going out or the error codes? Seems like a pain having to change these lights out especially the interior/trunk. I tried the trunk and the fuse blew out easily. I am hesitant to switch out any lights now.

You probably short circuited connections while removing. Use a pencil or something plastic to get that hot bulb out.

So I ended up finding some lights that were simple plug and play, the end result is 100% better than stock. Sorry for the big pics, was in a rush to post and didn't realize how big they would actually show up in this post

They sold in pairs, here's the link. Choose the first option for our cars "LED Footwell / Under Door Step Lights for BMW - Set of 2 (1 pair)". I also saw these on Ebay for around $14 a pair but wanted to get them from a reputable place, Ebay ones might be the exact same thing but didn't want to risk it.

I ordered two sets of these:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Plug-n-play - no tools needed.

Awesome and simple mod. Replaced two (front) last evening and the brightness increase is so good. Waiting for the remaining two to be delivered (from Amazon) to complete the rear doors.

I would have preferred a warm white 3000-4000K color but white will do for now!
