CCP / Oil change / Air filters
I got my CCP done about two weeks ago and got it back last week. Last night I was reinstalling my BMS S1 and decided to do the carbon filter delete. After prying the intake apart I realized the entire top portion of the filter cover came out with the filter attached. It was almost melted together - it felt like a solid single piece until I was able to pry them apart.
The paper is the normal yellow, but the edge that is closest to the middle is very brown as if burnt. I touch it and it crumbles.... yeah. That's totally getting sucked into my turbos. Anyways, do the air filters generally not get replaced in an oil service? I had the oil service performed (it was part of the CCP). In every car I've ever had the air filters were on the same interval as oil. |

Interesting....I was going to do this simple mod after I had my CCP done a few weeks ago. I see Rock Auto sells Mahle-Knecht LX16845 & LX16855 for $16 each. Sounds like I should order a set prior to taking things apart or maybe spring for the BadBlack modified K&N's.
