M5 Muffler on 550Xi M-Sport
Will M5 Mufflers fit on stock 550xi M-Sport Diffuser or will I need to go M5 Diffuser? If I have to go M5 Diffuser, is it a bolt-on to the M-Sport Bumper?
Thanks in advance for your response. Yes - I did search but couldn't find definitive resolution to this specific configuration. |

M5 mufflers will need an M5 diffuser unless you modify the hangars to adjust the positioning. If you mount them up as is, they will not line up with the stock 550 diffuser, only the M5 diffuser.
Yes the M5 diffuser is a direct replacement on your M Sport bumper. If you have the convenience package with the kick sensor, there is another piece you need and some adjustments have to be made I think. There is a thread that outlines what you need in the DIY forum.

Many thanks for the reply. No kick sensor here. May just have the muffler guys adjust hangars to adapt to stock M-sport bumper, as the M5 diffuser may be a touch too modified/poser for my taste. Just want to ditch the trapezoid and gain a bit of decibel.
Thanks again. Quote:
