The first picture with the tan interior obviously is computer generated and missing certain details, including depth.
The second, witht he brown leather is awesome!!!
I thought the tan pic was the new 7

I had that in mind as I was replying, trying to not just complain about "new" and "slightly different".

It's not so much not liking it as it's not as great as I feel it could or should be given the brand and price range. Something "sleek" like post #18 and #25 in this thread are what I personally like, even though #25 still has that screen I just can't get over (yet) .

All subjective of course.

I wish BMW was going the same direction as Porsche, Ferrari and Jags, a mix of digital and traditional dials.

My HUD gives me numerical speed readout.
Wifes audi had choice for options LED screen between the dials.
Its a 2015 Allroad.
Newer LED dash readouts give a lot of choices. As for the screens, they seem to work very well when your sitting in the drivers seat. I shopped a C400 and it integrates enough. I drove a 2007 328i coupe with no iDrive or screen and never really missed for the 6 years I owned it.

Ladies and gentlemen, I have seen the future and it's the new Volvo S90. Had a quick drive in one a couple of weeks ago (a D4, equivalent to a 520d) and the interior is stunning, full 12 inch digital dashboard, the iPad in the centre stack and a great HUD. Not to mention the many safety/driver assist systems which are standard. Am getting an extended loan of a higher powered motor shortly. While the rear end is slightly different and not what I would design (the wagon coming shortly looks much better), this is the first car in nearly twenty years that might tempt me out of a five series. Only downside is four cylinder engines only, but even Porsche now has these on Cayman and Boxster, so I guess that's the way things are going. The opportunity to use the top end power of the six cylinder cars is steadily diminishing anyway with increased congestion and traffic enforcement.

Haven't driven the new S90, but I guess the interior features are similar to the new XC90. I assume the new 5 series, the G30, will also get digital display like in the new 7 series, and I feel that is just as nice as the one in the Volvo.
And I prefere the new iDrive 5.0 with both touch screen and iDrive knob over the "iPad" Volvo screen.
