Looks good!

Does it still have the console-mounted ignition cylinder?

Have any of you guys had any experiences of these cars?

Yes.

Good value used at the moment because the company has gone down the pan.
However, an 08 car shouldn't be too bad, as lots of the earlier problems had been ironed out by then, and these 9-3's had a much better fit n finish from 07 onwards.
TiD engine isn't too bad, being the widely used GM-Fiat unit, and they respond well to a remap

It's not a BMW or Audi, but they arn't as bad as many would have you believe. Parts supply shouldn't be an issue either.

They havent actually 'went down the pan' as such, its just they no longer make 'normal cars'. Saab Automobile AB has been bought over by a Chinese investor from Sweden, and he plans to revive the brand by building electric cars.

My parents car is 08, and we are very familiar with the Z19DTH engine, we previously owned Vauxhall cars. Parts isnt an issue with 'Saab Automobile Parts AB' (a subsidiary of Saab UK) still trading and also Neo Brothers, the largest Saab parts breaker in the UK.
