is it possible that WW is shipping to the west coast now as well?
NHK lines has no vessels going to Port Hueneme, but a few to the port of long beach, but WW has a ton of boats going to Port Hueneme... I'm confused now EDIT: nevermind WW DOES ship to the west coast now

Where on BMW Owner's circle website can you track your order? I can't see a track order feature anywhere.

I think they changed their web site over the last couple of months and now no longer provide this tracking to the public. At least that was my experience--in November I was able to find a page (linked at the top of this thread) that asked for the VIN and suggested it would provide auto tracking, and now the same links to the same page redirect to a login page. |

you can still track by VIN
Go to the main website, click on "Customer Center" then click on "Track and Trace" Enter your VIN into the "Cargo ID" field, and press search.

Ahh, I see what happened... Their web site redesign seems to have made to tracking page unavailable in Safari! Just tried what you said and got the same redirect to a login page, as I had described. But on a whim I tried it again in Firefox and Opera, and both of those worked. So FYI for any of you fellow Mac users... |

I had to enter a new vehicle on the home page after signing in. Once I did that using the production number, an option appeared to track it on the menu on the far right side of the screen under the newly added vehicle.

Yesterday I called the 1800 number and gave them my production number and they told me the car was on order but not yet scheduled for production.
So I called again today and they told me my car is in production and is scheduled to be completed March 5th. So am I right in assuming the car will be here and ready to pick up (california) hopefully 2, maybe 3 weeks after March 5th? |

Doubtful it would be that quick. I am closer than you along the delivery route and it was a smidge over 3 weeks on my US delivery E90.

My car was built about 3 weeks ago. It just got on a ship this past weekend. Estimated transport to the East coast is 13 days. Add time getting it to the dealer and I would expect at least 5-6 weeks total and I'm on the East Coast.

It took 14 days from finish of production to being loaded on a ship. Who knows why. Maybe they had a holiday or something.

This may sounds a little silly but i'm still gonna ask.
What are all these orders i have been reading? Are they custom made with special specs? I usually walk into a dealer to buy a car. Someone enlighten me please. |

Yes, we just order the car from the factory with the exact options / colors that we wanted. Especially if you want a manual transmission, they are particularly hard to find here so if you want any chance of getting one with all the other stuff you want, your only bet is to pretty much order.
