Can't decide: 535xi sport vs. 535xi M-sport vs. 550xi sport
Initially, I was set on getting a 535 xdrive with SP, 2TB, PP, PP2, and CWP.
But then the price is only 5K away from an equally equipped 550 xdrive (SP, 2TB, PP2, CWP). So then I was thinking that the extra 5 grand may be worth it for the 550. But I have some concerns about getting the 550. The extra horsepower and torque would be nice. But will it not be appreciated or used under normal driving conditions and will I just be wasting gas all the time? Then I gave thought to a 535 xdrive with the M sport, which when optioned out came right in between the 535 sport and 550 sport (65K vs. 68K vs. 70K). I really like the M exterior and steering wheel. I'm not sure yet about the dynamic handling. I imagine that he 535 M sport would give me the least return in terms of resale value. Which would be the best option in terms of performance and resale value? Your input would be appreciated. |

keep in mind the 550i comes with some standard things that 535 doesnt, and you can always use the extra power, and it doesnt use that much more gas

If it helps I opted on the 535xdrive w m sport. I love the look of the car as a whole w the m package, and wouldnt have gotten the suspension or headliner options w o it. Yes of course you can change the bumpers an wheels if you dont get the package, but you also cut yourself short on all the other goodies that come along w it. Hope it helps. Just my .2

However, if the car has the factory installed package(s), then the cost of the package only depreciates in line with the rest of the car. Roger |

I'm in the same dilemma! kind of..
I've been originally looking at the e92 m3 and i'm considering it a lot as it is the last N/A v8 but at the same time the 535xi M sport is much more practical and came out at about the same price.. (I go to school in malibu and an m3 would be nice since it's sunny year-round but when I'm not at school I live in Seattle and it rains/snows all the time so x-drive would be much more practical) Such a hard decision.. |

Only 5k difference, that's nothing, here it's at least 50k.
