BMW Internet Option
Have any of you guys got this as an option in your car?
And have you been able to play Youtube videos? Or perhaps (when tethered) control your iPhone's internet through the pro sat nav unit? Ideally I would like to listen to youtube music in the car and on the go? Is there a code to unlock internet in motion?

I certainly wouldn't recommend you use the internet or watch a dvd whilst driving...can and will only lead to one thing.. |

It was on my 2011 f11. It's garbage. It seems like GPRS speed at best. Could take a fee minutes just to load the weather images. So no bloody chance of playing you tube. Not unless they've upgraded the system.

I have it in mine and it is OK. Not brilliant, but not terrible either. a lot depends on where the car is at the moment you want to connect. Speed is not brilliant, but definitely not bad. Would I add it on a new car I was building? Yes i would. Simply because I want to know it is there if I need it.

It works a treat. Fairly quick too, everything seems to be set as German for default!!!

I tried google once bu tit was too slow. have a prelci car so I belive its a GPRS connection. (or maybe EDGE?)
I think the LCI cars may have a 3G connection so it might be better? I'm sure you'll get a better experience with your smartphone to be honest |

There appears to be no sound from the browser - YouTube videos, volume etc.. looks ok.
Is there a bizarre setting somewhere that needs to be turned on?

All you have to do is get into the options (Assume your'e entering a web address and then push the joystick towards the right). When this menu shows check Enable Sound and Enable Flashplayer and that did it for me. |
