This is one of the few additional options I wish I could have on my 5er, and of course it's not available for pre-LCI One more reason to upgrade sooner rather than later (albeit I just got my '13 5 weeks ago)! Wishful thinking I'm sure, by maybe it could be coded in after a firmware update?! Not holding my breath...

No big deal for me as my car is garages at home and it is attached to my home so it is semi heated in the winter.

It is a bulletin for BMW employees. Took screen shots cause it has employee emails in the full bulletin.

Not avail for M5 either? This could have been the justification I needed! Ok not really..

Hopefully someone will get this working in a Pre-LCI..

Nice. To be honest though, this should just be a complimentary feature BMW should offer all their LCI clients. $500-800 isn't bad but still, BMW should take care of their customers a little more, but that's just me.

Why is Beta link K2 required with this kit? What are they gluing on to car for this kit?

$500 - 800 plus 3 hours labor.

The first page says it uses existing key. Second page indicates new key required. And then the Beta link K2.... Gluing the remote start module in place?

Glue the new key into the remote start module I suspect.

This leaves the owner with their original keys and the remote start uses the 'new' one to comply with the cars security system.

It says in the bulletin that it requires an additional coded key during installation...

even though I have a pre-LCI car, why would I pay this much for a feature any competent stereo shop can install for about $175? not to mention this isn't exactly top of my list since I live in socal

Shoot...I live in Ohio and I still wouldn't pay $800 unless it was included with the car when I first bought it

175 for a Honda civic, they are more in the 600 + range for BMW. a neich market for the manufacturers so they demand the higher price.
