Keyless entry and drunk door
Anyone had any problems with this feature where the keyless door sometimes work and other times not? Also the drunk door will sometimes open (using your leg) and other times not? I've been having this problems on and off but took it to the dealer and they said they couldn't find any problems with it. Not surprising! They made a comment about the a chance of the signal getting blocked if your windows are tinted. Do they really think everyone is an idiot? I've had a few luxury vehicles and I've done the same mods to them with no problems ever.
Apparently carbon fiber will also cause the trunk not to work!!! LMAO... Last edited by BeemER13; 09-04-2013 at 02:44 PM.. |

I have this problem now. It is as a result of installing the M-performance diffuser. My SA explained that BMW didn't realize that installing the M-sport rear diffuser would prevent the foot activated comfort trunk access from working 100% of the time.
My SA made BMW aware of the problem. They asked me to make BMW aware of the problem too (via the BMW Help Line) to heighten their awareness of the issue. In the meantime, my SA asked that I remain patient until they are notified by BMW what their solution will be.

Andy now that makes a little more sense than saying Carbon Fiber is causing the problem. I had this problem before installing my diffuser which I told them. I couldn't believe that BMW would make something so complicated to work. So much for convenience. It's easier to take the key out of my pocket and click the button to open the trunk than standing there kicking your foot in and out of the back of your car and looking like an idiot!
Is there a phone number to the help line? I might as well report this too. |

I was thinking the same thing as you regarding the key fob. Coding the trunk to open AND close via the key fob and trunk button under the dash makes it even better. As a result, I can deal with no comfort trunk access.

I have it on one of my cars and although I don't hate it, I'd never pay for it or order a car with it again. My CA had to call me 4 times because my 528 is pretty high spec but I didn't order CA and I don't think he could understand I didn't want it.

I too have issues with CA. Doors too not just trunk. On the doors it functions properly 85% of the time. Trunk is at disappointing 30% of the time.
I am running stock diffuser M-Sport package.

I have the comfort access, the doors are pricks sometime, like when they lock when the door is open and then you have to pull the handle inside the door to close it.
However, I've found with the trunk that if you just put your foot under the back once in the middle, and only keep it there for a half second or so, it always works. Not sure if that will help but there you go. |
