Sports Automatic 0-60 (0-62)
Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know if the 0-60 time changes with the sport automatic transmission on a 520d, the reason I ask is I have read multiple times about faster throttle response and holding the gears for longer, does this affect 0-60 times? Logic seems to suggest it would however there is no official statement. Official figures are: 0-60 = 7.8s 0-62 = 8.1s Any input? Thanks |

To the best of my knowledge, no. The tech specs on the car would say so if that was the case.
I think, (and I'm happy to be corrected on this one), it just adds the flappy paddles and a different gear lever. Whether the gearbox is programmed any differently, I'll let us with more info confirm either way on that. |

You can't but you once could. It just hangs onto the gears longer but the standard auto will change at the same point if the throttle is buried. So the answer is that it would not be any quicker.

Thanks guys,
So really it is just the flappy paddles with a different style shifter. Maybe the quicker gear changes and longer holding gears are a placebo effect. |
