Which Coilover System?

I'm planning on a Coilover for my f10 soon. Am having a tough time making a decision of which brand to go with.

I had BC before on my e36 m3 and it was harsher than I'd like for my 5er.

I had raceland coilovers on my e46 330 zhp and I liked them. But they don't make coils for the f10.

I had ST coilovers on my Audi A6. They were good but a little to soft/they would float on high speed large bumps (ex bridge crossings).

I wish ST made a setup for the f10 with adjustable rebound; but they don't.

Do I go with the kW v1, v2, or the ST? Any other brands I should look at? Any input on Megan?

Thanks.

So I spent the last 2 years deciding what kind of suspension I was gonna do whether it was going to be Springs or Coilovers? I knew from the Springs I've seen none of them low enough for my likings. So coilovers it is. From all the one's you listed I researched them all. All had their pros and cons. I ended up going with the KWV1's instead of the V2/V3 since I knew it would be pointless since my car will not see any track time. Handling characteristics on these are sweet! Perfect if you ask me as all my cars I've owned I pretty much lowered them all! Car rides smooth with just a Tad of firmness! Handles corners with ease and surprisingly can't tell from the inside that I'm lowered at all. I would recommend KW's but if you don't plan on tracking your car whatsoever save the money and get the V1's for $1360 no EDC

Yeah that's where my head is at as well; either KW V1's or St's (Since they are the same thing). Just wanted to see what some others input was.

lsturbointeg Do you have a downpipe? If so, was it worth it? I have intake, charge pipe, jb4 and the remus exhaust. Only thing left is a DP and suspension.

only negative thing about ST's are they are not corosion resistant. whether they corode or not who knows i tried google to see if there's anybody that did in fact have corosion but came up with nothing. i have yet done anything performance wise except the Meisterschaft exhaust which is sitting in my storage as i'm waiting to get the MTech rear bumper completed. Performance wise i will be working on it during the winter. really pushing towards the Mission Performance flash tuning and upgrading DP, CP and maybe drop in K&N filter as well. now from what i've read i've only heard positive things with DP's. as long as they're installed correctly usually people complained or notice more of the exhaust or gas smell inside the cabin. i've also heard guys claiming once the DP's were installed the exhaust note changed as well from sounding more aggressive or the gurgle and pop sound before are sought out for. as far as suspension goes i would look at more photos of the F10 on springs and coilovers and decide from there

Dude i know u had prior experience with BC but i got BC in mines and my car rides great and I'm lowered. and I've lowered a tad more since i started being more active on the forums. Its 3 way adjustable with 32 rebound setting and height adjustable for $999 can't beat that. And here you go to top it all off if you have No EDC you can install yourself !!!!!!!

Aiden, did those BC's also come with adjustable camber plates for camber correction?

That was going to be my next question. What are people doing for camber correction? I know the rear has some adjustment. Does the front? If not who makes plates for the f10?

Nice. I didn't realize the f10 had adjustable camber up front.

It doesn't sound like you need V2s. V1s sound perfect for you and have an awesome ride. Let me know if you need any help.

How do you know if you have EDC? I have m-sport, is that a default for this option?

Look at the top of your shock towers up front. If there are wires connected then you have edc. If not then you do not.

I have KW v3 with the EDC delete but eventually had the dealer code it out. I love them, 0 issues to date.

I had STs on my m3, no issues, they are good if you don't want to spend a lot on coilovers.

Also, the EDC connectors are on the bottom of the shock, you should be able to see the unit connected to the shock then a wire connected to the car.
