I bought a 2014 specifically for the bigger engine (did I actually get it? Hmmm....) and the suspension. Looked at the car last night and my build date is 08/13. Just a little upset.

I have a full-optioned 2014 550i M-Sport parking next to me everyday. It sits so high, looks like a freakin' AWD. The wheel gaps are ridiculous. My 530i E60 was super-sleek, low and mean.

Or go to http://www.bmwarchiv.de/vin/bmw-vin-decoder.html Enter the last 7 characters of your VIN and it will display all the features installed on your car. Scroll down to the S700 range and see if it has S704. If not, open a case with BMW and get some money back. |

I feel that a tight two finger gap looks best on the stock 19" rims. |

My '14 550i M-Sport sits and rides just perfect with the M-sport suspension. The build date is either the end of August or the 1st of September. I can't find the build date, but it's the M-Sport suspension is on the window sticker. I couldn't be happier with this suspension over the Adaptive Drive on my '11 550i M-Sport.

Looks perfect! The 20's remove that extra half inch of wheel gap vs. the 19's.
You can find your build date here if you're interested. http://www.bmwarchiv.de/vin/bmw-vin-decoder.html |

Thanks. The wheel gap is still the same as the 19s. It just appears smaller because the wheel is bigger. I measured it with both.
Thanks for the link --- it shows 9/2/13. |

I upgraded my stock 19" 351M wheels to 20" 343M wheels, including OEM M5 tires, and since the OD of the wheel is approximately .500" larger, you gain a about a .250" ride height and a .250" arch gap reduction on average between the front and rear wheels: Here is the Tale of the Tape: Before: F10 535i M-Sport 19" M Double Spoke Style 351M Cast Wheel Set

^^ Wow, great info Shawn. And I thought *I* was detail oriented.
But yes, without suspension modification or very low profile tires, there has to be a smaller gap when moving from 19's to 20's due to the extra 1/2" radius. |

Checked that link: car was made the second day of August and has no S704. Someone at my dealership is about to get an ear-full. Last edited by SocalBM; 12-05-2013 at 02:17 PM.. |

Often it actually appears bigger since the tire wall gets smaller.

My wheel gap is the same because I don't have the OEM M5 wheels. I have the Avant Garde 355 wheels which are 10.5" on the rear. I went with 255/35 in the front and 285/30 in the rear. I tried the 295/30, but it would hit the fender on big dips because the 1/2" extra width in the rear.

Sorry to hear that. BMWNA really made a mess with this poor decision. Did you order the car, or buy it off the lot? I've been through the process so feel free to send me a PM if you have any questions. Best of luck with your negotiations.

Wasn't interested in waiting several months on an order, so the car was shipped in, which meant I couldn't check the build date prior; but, if I'm perfectly honest, I don't know if I have much of a case against this dealership. I stated why I wanted a 2014 to the salesman, but that's about it. They could simply say "piss off".

Head over to bmwusa.com and open a case with customer service. https://www.bmwusa.com/Secured/Conte...ctaBMWRep.aspx If you have any evidence captured from the website when it incorrectly stated MSport suspension, or the order guide stating the 704 would be deleted when ordering DHP, I would present that to them as well. |
