so let me get this straight, if you order/configure an f10 with msport suspension, but add DHP, you do you effectively remove the msport suspension?

Yes, it is a different suspension all together. M-Sport suspension is Passive and DHP is Active.

thank for the quick reply...i have a lot of factors to consider as of right now my e90 m3 lease is about to come to an end, so it's either purchase my e90 m3 or lease and f10 550, seems m sport with m sport suspension would be the go for me as far as "feel" if I were to switch.

Just make sure you take a good test drive of an F10 before deciding. It's a very different car than its predecessor and of course worlds different than an M3.

Just bought a 550i xDrive M Sport with DHP yesterday - won't take delivery until Monday or Tuesday. I went back and forth on M Sport Suspension or DHP, and I hope I made the right decision here. I'm going from a 335i with sport suspension, and I admittedly tired of driving over poor city streets (even though it's rare) with that suspension but enjoyed it immensely on smooth highways.

So, for those with an opinion to share, M-Sport Suspension or DHP? From everyone at BMW I spoke to, and the reviews I've seen from the major "car people," it seems the trend is to push the DHP. Could this be why BMW was looking to drop the M Sport Suspension? Do they just intend for those who want a sportier suspension to opt for the DHP that includes the adaptive dampers and anti-roll?

I decided to get the DHP after reading a bunch of reviews that basically concluded, "your F10 won't drive as well without it." I suspect the passive M Sport Suspension would be just as firm as the "sport" or "sport+" setting on the adaptive dampers, but then again you also get the anti-roll with DHP, which appears to be an active system to counter roll in corners - next nearest option would be passive anti-roll bars with the M Sport Suspension?

Just curious what you guys think who have owned F10s with these two different suspensions.

Not sure if you know since you bought an xdrive, but there's no M-sport suspension for the xdrive even if the car has m-sport package.

remmib - No, I wasn't aware. When I configure the car online, it says that adding DHP will "delete M sport suspension" so I just assumed the M Sport package provided it. But I did notice that under the M Sport line it does NOT say it includes a new suspension - interesting conflict there on the site. Either way, I opted for the DHP based upon the feedback, reviews, etc. After having the sport suspension on the 335i, I'm ready for something that allows for a bit more cushion when necessary. Thanks for the info!

So does '11 535i with m sport have the m sport suspension? I used one of those links and put the VIN and it says m sport package, and another option it says "S2VAA
Adaptive Drive Chassis & suspens. setup"Adaptive Drive"

So do I have m sport suspension?

No, m-sport suspension are passive dampers and swaybars.
And the "M Sport suspension", the passive non adjustable sport suspension, was introduced in the 2013 model year. So no on a 2011.

So which is a better suspension? Should I be mad at the fact I don't have the m suspension?
