Also, I know this has been covered in other threads so I apologize, but I did not see a clear answer...If you simply replace mufflers, like a Supersprint that does not have the "flaps"...what exactly happens (any codes or negative effects)? Do you have to do anything particular with the left over wires or pressure tubing for the OEM "flaps".

Also, are the flaps on Meisterschaft still pressure regulated like OEM or is it a remote switch to open them?
I can definitely notice when the "flaps" or "electronic valves" open or close because I am the one controlling them from inside the cabin. I can basically go from "Driving Miss Daisy" quiet (just a bit louder than stock), to exotic loud and refined exhaust notes by opening and closing the valve by holding the switch inside the car.

Replacing the exhaust for one that doesn't have the suction flaps does not give any codes as far as I am aware, what would give you a code on the dash would be removing your primary and/or secondary cats.

And again, the valves/flaps on the Meisterschaft are not pressure regulated like the OEM ones, the switch can be installed wherever you want it inside the cabin for your convenience.

are installing the DPs simple enough to do in one's garage at home rather than taking it to a shop?

From my experience the DP's are a bear of time. I definitely recommend taking it to a shop.

Not exactly. It's not that complicated but you'd definitely want to take it to a shop that has a lift. It's not a 8-10 hour job like I've seen posted on some other posts. The downpipes alone took us about 2 hours like the 335i's. It was definitely an honor to be able to do this job on his car! When we fired it up it we were all saying "IT'S ALIVE!!!!"

Hey Jason,

Thank you for all the compliments.

I actually got the AR catless downpipes and Meisterschaft exhaust installed by Bavarian Exclusive last Friday.

From what I could tell, downpipe installation for BavX was a no brainer, since I was under the impression that DP install on the F10 was more complex than other bimmers after talking to AR design and having them quote 6-7 hours of install time( just for downpipes)due to tight space. Bav x installed the downpipes, exhaust and wired the electronic valves inside the cabin and installed the switch in a matter of a few hours.

I'll be up at BavX on Thursday morning for some adjustments. If your not busy , it would be cool if you could swing by.

Ok,

I haven't had a full free day to record some proper video sound clips of the new Meisterschaft exhaust on the 550 for you.

Although I did manage to get a chance to make this small teaser video for you today, since I probably won't record the proper sound clips until sometime next week.

Hopefully this will hold you up until then

Damn, that sounds mean.

How's the sound going slow on low revs, neighborhood friendly or not?
