Has anybody tried DTUK box?

As title suggests, has anybody tried it on 520d?
Happy / unhappy with the results?

Thanks.

Nope, I was looking at DTUK v Racechip a while back and posted the same question. I did have someone come back saying that they tried the DTUK box and didn't think much of it. I am therefore thinking of going with Racechip, just never get around to ordering it!

I de-installed from my 320d (2011 184PS version) last year when I chopped it in for this 530d - it did 'work', altho I found no real change when upping the setting ... and I thought the Support was content free

It's sitting in a drawer at the moment, forgotten about it really - if you want to try it you're welcome - if you decide you like it you can have it for £75 ... was only on the car for 2K miles and has all the leads, plugs and Instruction pages complete ....

I have seen rolling road test results on the tuning forum which seem to suggest that the Racechip does achieve gains. For me I just want to get rid of the slight lag on initial acceleration and any power increase would just be a benefit

@ Makkano - as discussed ... doubt these will help much tho ....

1st pic - the effective new sockets for existing loom plugs to route signals to the 'Box'

2nd pic - the replacement plugs bringing signals back from box to control injector & boost connectors on the engine.

Spoke to Simon from Emaps on Tuesday, he is getting the new kit to allow him to remap the F10 from the port in the car in the new year.

Unfortunately because mine has the BMW performance pack he is not willing to guarantee it will work properly on mine as he has no knowledge of what changes BMW make within the new ECU that comes with this upgrade.

Did you read the thread where Belgium company cracked remapping of F-series?

As you said, F series can be remapped via obd from next year.

If you have performance pack, then why risking a remap.

From the past experience, all bmw performance ECU are encrypted heavily and very difficult to break encryption on them.

Good luck as 530 will be beast.

Yes indeed it will, Simon remapped my previous X5 3.0 SD. 350bhp and 700nm torque, this thing was a beast of a car!

Yeah read that thread, that's why I called Simon. As I said he has ordered the software and will have for installs in the new year. Don't think I fancy being the guinea pig for the performance ECU though!

Really good to hear that Simon is getting kitted up to remap F series cars. Had my last car mapped by Emaps and it was great.
