From sketch to reality - BMW 5-Series GT Development
Going from sketch to reality is a long and certainly daunting process for any automaker. And one that is always a bit shrouded by mystery for the average enthusiast. With the 5er GT BMW decided to give everyone some insight into the working behind the scenes at BMW with these multipart videos on the process. Even if you are not a fan of this car (believe me, it really grows on you ALOT) these videos are worth the watch just too get a glimpse into what goes into the design and development of a BMW. Part 1 Part 2: Prototyping and Testing Part 3: Final Tests and Premiere |

I saw that on the next time clips that part of testing is to autox the thing. Now why does that void my warranty if its part of the design process?
Im studing to be an aeronautical engineer. We go through a similar design process and trust me, its not as glamrous as you might think. |

Great video , i cant wait for part 2 .
I just ordered the 535 gt (xmas present for me) and i cant have enough info. As for the looks , i initially thought it was strange looking but practical , so i went to see it up close... It is nothing like the photos , i fell in love with it instantly. |

I love seeing the progression of the kidney grills over the years... Tall and skinny, to long and flat, back to tall and skinny(ish)

and i totally wanted bmw to try the direction of italic squared corona rings / angel eyes. Sort of like the recent white/blue/black concept car BMW showed off few months go.

WOW this is so awesome, I didn't feel like commenting on the 1st part but the 2nd is really getting good. I really don't have words to describe how epic this is to see how a car is made from start to finish in such detail, let alone a BMW.
