Just put down my deposit :)
After searching around for a while, I've just put down a deposit on a lovely 2013 5 series! It's an ex-demo car (not sure if that's a good thing or not?) but it was absolutely beautiful inside and out when I took a look at it.
Spec as follows:
Asking price was £26850 but got them down to £25000 which includes their servicing pack, paying cash. Not sure if I got a great deal but I'm pretty happy. Picking up the car on Wednesday and will pay the full balance then, is there anything else you think I can ask for? Are there any downsides of this being an ex-demo? |

The only downside that I can think of is the fact that maybe the car wasn't babied since it was being test driven a lot. I have a demo X3 though, and nothing is wrong with it. It was in good shape when I got it. Just be careful that the car feels and looks 100%!
Congrats on the car! |

Demo cars can be great options. They're often "lightly" used. Yes, many different people drive them, which could be a down-side as the above poster pointed out - they're not necessarily babied. But at the same time, a single owner may not baby a car either that's on the lot as CPO.
With 15k miles, you can get a sizable discount and still have 35k miles under warranty to make sure nothing is terribly wrong. I'm slightly surprised that the mileage is as high as it is for a demo car, and that they've waited this long to sell it - 2014's are nearing an end and 2015's will be here shortly. But it is what it is... just sounds like they hung on to this demo longer than I'd typically expect (more like 4k - 6k miles), but I guess that's the dealer's decision. Best of luck with it!

That's an interesting point you raise, and one which I will discuss with them today when I pick up the car.
The car drove beautifully and was immaculate so I am very happy with the general condition and the price seems to be fair (not really a bargain but for a BMW dealership it isn't crazily overpriced) so at the end of the day I will walk away a happy man. There are 2 years of warranty left as well so I have peace of mind, too. To say I feel like a kid at Christmas is an understatement, I'm so excited to pick up my new baby |

I'm glad for you OP. If it drives well, chances are the car is fine. Also, remember, these cars were made to be driven hard.
Hope you have fun! |
