All those with 2014+ 550i Launch control.

Hey guys,

So tonight I actually drove my car hard and was trying out LC.
So 1st time I did it it worked perfectly (crazy how much harder car shifts using LC vs just flooring it off line). Anyways, back to the story.

2nd time: Flag popped up, BOGGG of line like I had no boost, then Boom.
3rd time: Flag popped up, Same as above.

got home, uploaded some videos.

Got pissed at the fact that LC was acting up.
So got back in my car.

1st time: LC worked perfectly
2nd time: NOPE
3rd time: NOPE

So then I thought, ok wtf it did the same exact pattern as the 1st round of testing.

So I turned my car off, turned it back on.
LC worked
Turned car off, then back on
LC worked.

So I'm thinking this is a safety feature on the 550i.

ARC550 I remember you telling me your car was bogging too... When the weather is good try it again.. should work 1st time, then try it once more if it bogs, turn car off, then back on, and try again.

All those w/550i 2014+ w/LC please do me a damn favor and check this out... see if you have a similar experience.

Its Normal!! Welcome to the "to much power to launch club" the 2014+ have more restrictions on the traction system in our car. If it senses a hard launch it cuts boost. I have experienced this Post/Pre JB and Gintani.

You will simply have to launch car at a lower RPM.
I went through hell at the track with this and I have AWD!! Lol still managed a 1.735 60ft at a 2.2k launch ahhahahhahahaha Torque baby!!

Did you read what I wrote? What your saying makes sense, but I figured something out last night after I emailed you and wrote it here..lol
the bogging is a safety feature im thinking.

It worked 3x in a row by turning car off and back on between each pull.

Try it.

Bro.. My car bogs every time wgen launched over 2.7k lol. Its a safety feature built in to BMW ecu. Cannot be avoided.

Sweet a few others also trying tonight.
Remember try it back to back and see if it works.
If it doesn't then try my method.

I've never used LC back to back until yesterday. I've probably used it 4-5 times in over a year.

Tried back to back LC's in my '14 550xi this evening and they both worked to perfection. In fact I think the 2nd was harder than the first.

Launched it several times last night, just put BMS on, worked both times but not sure if I installed the box correctly/what the dial is set too. Waiting for ARCH to make sure everything was installed correctly.

Done it back to back and mine is fine! Keep in mind I only have JB though on the 2 o'clock setting. When I install my DP's and get my mid muffler delete this week I'm setting it to 5 o'clock and I will try again for you

You could even do 3pm setting now.
The power at 5 with dPs is impressive.
Smoother and faster! Oh yea.. Sounds like angels singing rock n roll!

I cannot wait. Having AMS do my mid muffler delete tomorrow morning and throw an x pipe on it then hopefully I'll have my dp's by the weekend
