Front Parking Camera?

Has anyone got a front parking camera? I don't mean the 2 that fit on the front wings just in front of the wheels, but one fitted centrally in the front lower grill. I know it's only a matter of time before my M Sport front splitters have an argument with a high curb when parking front on, so it seems like a good idea. I already have a rear camera so would that make the interface with the car easier?

It would be if I was more interested in seeing pedestrians than kerbs but I imagine fitting is pretty much the same, but about £2k cheaper than the night vision gear!

I have the two on the bumpers - for pulling out of junctions, but not one that points directly to the front.

Does anyone know an easy route through the F10 front firewall / bulkhead? If it's not too difficult I may consider installing one?

From what I can gather the X3 is available with a panoramic camera at the front, which sees to the front & sides, and seems a lot more useful than the sideways facing one's on the F10, although they may well suffer a lot of distortion from such a wide angle lens.

I would imagine that this is made up of three cameras, both wings and front bumper, all three images displayed on the idrive screen are probably what is classed as a panoramic view...

I think (and don't take this the wrong way) it's assumed as a driver you would be looking for pedestrians and see them. The danger and suspect the reason front cameras aren't fitted is because they could be relied upon. Night vision camera probably gets away with this as its classed as an aid.

We must be taking at cross purposes here, I'm talking about a camera set 12 inches from the floor & used for 'parking' ie spotting high kerbs & munchkin. As they are normally prevented from working over about 5 mph I doubt anyone would use it to spot any pedestrians visible above the bonnet, but for those of smaller stature it would surely be a safety feature

The latest camera systems on BMW's deploy three cameras when optioned on the front, one each on either side of the car in the front bumper and one in between the front kidney grill. Like OP has said these only operate at low speeds and are designed to enable you to judge high kerbs/small railings/etc...

I've bitten the bullet & ordered a front camera & 'SmartView', BimmerTech's screen mirroring solution for Android & iPhones, so if anyone has any tips on removing the lower M Sport grills I'd be grateful, I really don't want to have to remove the whole bumper
