F10 (2014) 535i xdrive tire pressure
hi all,
I found out today that one of my tire valve stem caps was stolen.. when I get home, I checked the tire pressure , I realized all 4 tires are low. I was about to refill the tire, but on the user guide. it says "The displays of inflation devices may under-read by up to 1.45 psi/0.1 bar" I was just wondering should I refill the tire to 35psi(front) 39psi(rear) minus 1.45 PSI? Thanks!! also , what does OEM tire air valve stem cap looks like? Mine has N2 written on the top, black cap. plastic.

Your tires are likely low due to the cold temperatures today.
Fill the tires to the manual / door jamb sticker recommendations and check them with a good quality tire gauge that every car owner should have. If possible they should be filled when still cold. I have a small compressor that I use in my driveway so the tires are always stone cold. You should check your tires every month or before a long trip. I'm lax myself in this regard plus its damn cold out. The 1.45 reading seems like a red herring to me--how do you know which inflating device is inaccurate? Use your own gauge. I would rather fill up the tires using my gauge (if on a trip), drive home and let the tires cool down and then check them with my own gauge again for the best accuracy. A small variance to the upside is probably better than a variance to the downside when it comes to pressure. 35/36 fronts and 39 rears sounds right. You'll need to re-check the tires once the weather warms up in the spring (if it ever arrives).
